The exhibition of Jet Nuij leads to special reactions from visitors. Visitors are impressed, not least of its technical ability. But it is mainly the theme that appeals to them.
A family history is hidden under the title “new skin of old scars”, which evokes emotions. Many visitors see points of contact with their own history.
Jet Nuij has worked a full year on the preparations for this exhibition in silence and intimacy. She says: “But once it’s done, it’s everyone’s, then you may find something of it.”
Jet is particularly pleased with the care with which her exhibition has been arranged by the museum in the person of Jos Solberg. “And the opening speech of the philosopher Frans Gerards, who still thunders in our minds.”
