Museum Valkenburg was recently surprised with a new addition to the Restoration Studio, with which the Valkenburg Archaeological Working Group can once again do beautiful projects.
The objects mainly come from the excavation of a cesspit. Some water jars, so-called Cologne pots, kettles and folk earthenware plates. But also various ceramic fragments, tiles and, for example, tobacco pipes, the cow horns that were in between are remarkable.
After cleaning, we can identify most ceramics. The other finds, such as tobacco pipes, are also fun research material. The results will be exhibited in the museum in due course.
Anyone can follow the progress on Facebook Restoration studio Valkenburg, or come and watch on Wednesday afternoon at Museum Valkenburg.
