The Schatkamer gives visitors a glimpse into the museum collection. The collection reflects the artistic developments within the region in the 20th and 21st centuries.

The Museum is regularly offered collection items.
Not everything can get a place in the collection. The Museum collection team therefore works with “selection at the gate”; if an offer does not fit within the collection, the Museum does not accept the object. If an item does fit within the collection, it is taken on loan, donated or purchased. The new acquisition is then registered and possibly restored and presented. If it is not presented immediately, the object will be placed in a closed depot or in De Schatkamer.

South Limburg in all its facets receives extra attention within De Schatkamer.
Some Amsterdam Limburgers are discussed such as Guillaume Stassen and Lei Molin. As well as a number of renowned Limburg artists including Charles Eyck, Jos Frissen, Ger Huntjens and Jacques Vonk. In addition, De Schatkamer also features artists who have settled in the hills of Limburg and have been inspired by the landscape. The Treasury is, as it were, a small glimpse and specialized version of the museum’s closed depot.

During a repeat visit to the Museum we advise you to take a look here occasionally.
Alternately, different racks will be rolled in the foreground, placing works in view. In addition to the information in writing, information about the works is also available from the employees at the desk.
