Preparations for the exhibition 75 years of liberation Valkenburg We do Remember, which takes place in the Museum in the Grotestraat Center and the Post Office on the Lindenlaan, are in full swing.
A walking route is created in the high, still empty spaces in the post office. Buildings, mini cinemas and showcases will appear, in which the course of war and the liberation of Valkenburg will soon be made visible.
Gigantic photos appear on the outside of the former Post Office, revealing a little of the exhibition. People stand still and start a conversation.
Some spontaneously bring some surprising things.
The job is huge. Setting up a complete retrospective exhibition from scratch, with often never shown footage, is no mean feat.
The men from the We do Remember working group, assisted by many volunteers, are doing their best.
They have sacrificed their summer vacation. But sacrificing that word does not appear in their vocabulary. They know better than anyone that this summer they are working on a unique event that they will never forget for the rest of their lives.
The We Do Remember exhibition can be seen from 1 September to 27 October 2019, click HERE for more information.
