In recent years, a lot of work has been done on a total renovation and a new layout of the museum’s middle floor.
The aim is to modernize the cultural-historical presentation of the South Limburg hills and make it more accessible. The developments of landscape, tourism and culture are portrayed in a coherent and more understandable way.
The renovation of this part of the building has acquired a strong experimental character. With this design, the museum wants to take new paths and not be a copy of other museums. The Valkenburg museum thus preserves its own face.
Depending on the availability of project funds, the project can soon be completed with adjustments on the second floor and the ground floor.
The official opening is expected to take place around mid-March. During the work, the museum remains fully accessible to visitors.
